One of the quieter parks in Mueller Austin is the Northwest Greenway. It borders Dell Children’s Medical Center and The Greenway Lofts lo-rise condominium project.
If you look for the park online you’ll see the address as 1311 Philomena Street, and this marks the Northwest extremity of the park. Mueller is designed to have hike and bike trails creating a green necklace around the development, and the park extends South towards the Fire Station and EMS command center. The trails extend around Mosaic, parallel with Airport Boulevard and then lead to Lake Park, the Mueller Eateries and the Browning Hangar
If you’re looking for the kids’ playground and the shade structures with concrete benches, this can be found alongside Robert Browning Street. One of my favorite parts of the play scape is the slide composed of metal rollers – each roller seems to turn faster than the last as you fly down the slide.
The park is perhaps most notable for the older trees and the shade they provide – many of the other parks have a dearth of shade while the new trees are becoming established.
